What would you tell a friend you haven’t seen for a year?
Updated March 2026
Your World or Mine is officially on submission!
Listening to Mansfield Park on audio and reading Orlando.
Finished final edits for Shatter the Sun and saw the proofs — it’s going to be incredible in print.
Still playing Hades 2 every chance I get.
About 70% through draft 1 of our OT3 novel.
Learned transcendental meditation and have been practicing consistently for a few weeks now.
January 2026
I hosted a SFWA writing date to kick off the year! Enjoyed meeting new writers and talking to some writers I’ve known from around the internet.
We turned in a 3.75 draft of Your World or Mine with some excellent fine-tuning suggested by Dylan.
I’m spinning up an Urban Shadows campaign/series of short-shots with my regular TTRPG group. My character is going to be a himbo street racer from a wealthy family. Looking forward to causing problems…
I made a moto-hacked version of the Deer & Doe Safran pants in black cotton-spandex twill with some really fun details, including a back patch and custom labels. I’m down to one project in my WIP pile.
At home, we’ve been playing a lot of Betrayal at House on the Hill and Ticket to Ride on cozy nights in. I’m playing Hades 2, and taking a break from The Outer Worlds 2 for now.
I had a chance to collaborate with the amazing Izzy Wasserstein on a short story we’ve submitted for an anthology call. Fingers crossed!
December 2025
I had an amazing time in Ottawa for Can*Con 2025 in October. The panel on Alanna the Lioness and gender was a highlight, as was getting to hang out with the lovely people in the Canadian SFF scene.
I made the Decades of Style 1930s Kitchenette Pajamas in yarn-dyed cottons from Stonemountain & Daughter Fabrics.
We turned in draft 3.5 of Your World or Mine to Dylan one week early!
Kat & I received a couple rejections on the pieces we had out, but we’ve already submitted to the next venues on our list for each of them.
I’m reading Between Two Fires very slowly. I also recently really enjoyed this New Yorker piece on Neolithic archeology and this Counter Craft piece about philosophical literature.
My Nobilis campaign is wrapping this month; looking forward to playing World Ending Game with these PCs.
Between me, my kid, and my partner, we sorted what has to be 50 pounds of Legos and reorganized the Lego storage…this is a big deal in this house, believe me.
September 2025
Sewing projects have been slow, but I’m making the Deer & Doe Arum dress in a houndstooth viscose.
Brandon & I are putting a polish on the manuscript for Your World or Mine, our sci-fantasy worldhopping romance, with help from our new agent (! – haven’t gotten over that we have an agent), Dylan.
We’re also working on a new novel draft with our collaborator, Kat Weaver…no working title yet, but it’s a surreal, lush, epic fantasy romance with a love triangle that resolves in the OT3 of my heart and soul.
Kat and I have several short pieces on submission…fingers crossed!
My kid is in kindergarten! Can’t believe it. We’re reading the Enchanted Forest Chronicles, the Wayside School books, and, occasionally, The Hobbit, together.
My most recent read was Feast While You Can and it fully knocked me on my ass. I’m also slowly playing Expedition 33: Clair Obscur–what a beautiful game.
I’m playing a cowboy ghost rogue/ranger in a D&D 5e campaign and a medieval anchorite turned demigod in a Nobilis campaign.
Just got a new tattoo–black & gray gothic cathedral window–from Lauren at Love Struck
(This page follows the Now Pages concept, and was inspired by Brandon Crilly, who stole it from Kate Heartfield!)
